Off to see the Wizard!

Our Team is heading out today to take part in the Parktown Classic in beautiful Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Sheri could not make this trip so the Team has enlisted the services of Leslie MacDougall of PEI to fill in at lead. Leslie also played the first two games of the SWOCC on the fast Ilderton ice surface and did a great job.

We plan on following the action on the web. The link is posted on our website "Schedule" page.

Pat Reid "keeping them honest" at the Highland Club in London. Posted by Hello

They too serve

It used to be said that behind every succesful man was a hard working woman. These days, it is more likely to be true that there have been several hard working women.

We can easily paraphrase this saying and apply it to curling teams. Today's competitive teams have an army of "behinds": fans, spouses, friends, moms, dads, babysitters, sponsors, sports phsycologists, massage therapists, and more than one good bartender. None are more important though then the often undersung hero of many a game, The Coach.

Team Middaugh is blessed with one of the finest coaches and, not coincidentally, finest people in curling, Pat Reid. Our friend Robert from Delaware passed along the above candid shot of Pat holding up her end during the recent London Big Adventure. We are happy to pay homage to Pat for all of her hard work and friendship.

Love Those Londoners

Those wonderful folks at the SWOCC have posted a great picture of our gals accepting the Trophy on Monday, Oct. 18. I hope they don't mind us sharing it with our friends.

That is Scott Arnold on the right. The Arnold family is right there at the centre of this terrific spiel every time you look. Nice bunch.

The picture was taken by Robert Wilson. Thanks Robert.

Catch Up

Our Team has already played in two major events. They went to Calgary for the great Autumn Gold event and had a really nice trip.

They went to London this past weekend for the South Western Ontario Ladies Charity spiel and won the event over some incredibly tough competition. Featuring Teams from Germany, the USA and across Canada, this spiel is always tough and always fun. Lots of money is raised for Breast Cancer Research during this spiel.

Kudos to the terrific folks at the four clubs involved, London CC, Highland Country Club, Ilderton and a favourite of this Team, the St. Thomas CC.

This is the second time our Team have won this spiel and it was a very satisfying start to the season.

Ice is in!!

Good morning sports fans and welcome back. We are a day late and a dollar short getting this Team blog up and running this year but I will try to make up for it with pithy commentary and witty remarks.

This year we are posting our Blog with the good folks at Blogger as an experiment. I will work on it for the next few weeks to see if it will suit our needs and keep you informed of our progress.

Make sure you email me with any comments, suggestions or criticisms so that I can make this Blog better and/or block your access. <;-)
